Cycle track itinerary

93.5 km of cycle tracks are open in La Rochelle, and even more throughout Greater La Rochelle.

A map is available at the reception desk of all the town halls in Greater La Rochelle, as well as at the Environment Information Point in Rue des Gentilshommes.

Beaches

The town of La Rochelle has 3 supervised beaches in July and August,

• Chef de Baie
• La Concurrence*
• Les Minimes

*situated in the TOWN centre! 

Supervision:

These three beaches represent 6,000 to 8,000 bathers per day at weekends, so 3 lifeguard stations are open every day between 11 am to 7 pm in July and August.

Accessible beaches:

Improvements are constantly being made to the beaches to permit a maximum of people to use them in safety such as installation of decking or acquisition of specific equipment:

• 1 tiralo +1 hippocampe beach wheelchair, on La Concurrence and Les Minimes beach
• 1 beach sound system for Les Minimes

Sailing

The Marina of Les Minimes

The marina at Les Minimes is today the biggest port on Europe's Atlantic coast, which ensures La Rochelle's international reputation!

In 2007 it was granted the ISO 14001 standard which recognises the quality of environmental management put in place and a concern for its upkeep.
The port has 3,660 rings!
75% of the fleet is sailing boats and 90% is boats over 6 metres!
Every year 1,260 boats are registered in Poitou-Charentes! Today there is still a shortfall of 1,000 places
Since the infrastructures had become insufficient an environmental impact study was launched for the extension of the port, with several municipal departments involved.
Finally, it hosts the Grand Pavois which Europe's number 1 boating salon.
